FIRST BRICS NU Winter School
UNICAMP hosted Winter School and Research Seminar of the BRICS Network University (ITG on Economics).
The five-day event was held from 5 August to 9 August 2019. Participants from over 20 Universities and organizations took part in a series of lectures and seminars on economic, political and cultural issues of BRICS countries. The geography of the Winter school is really impressive: there were representatives of 18 different nations.
Keynote Speakers were Prof. Robert Guttmann, University of Paris 13 (France) and Hofstra University (USA), and Prof. Paulo Nogueira Batista Jr., former Vice-President of the New Development Bank (NDB).
During the Winter School professors and students took part in the lectures, research seminars and had interesting debates on different topics in economics of BRICS countries. At the final day of the School all the participants received certificates. The best student’s research presentations were awarded with a prize.
Besides intense research program, participants visited cultural events, including the gallery of contemporary Brazilian art, CPFL Energia – a 3rd largest electro power company in Brazil – and Brazilian-styled evening with national music, songs and food.
The next School of the BRICS Network University ITG on Economics will be hosted in Russia in 2020.
