Studens from BRICS countries took part in HSE International Winter School
From January 29 to February 9, 2018, the International Winter School, organized by the Faculty of World Economy and International Relations, was held. Within the framework of BRICS Network University four students from BRICS countries recieved a grant.
The main goal of the School is to introduce foreign students to the Higher School of Economics and life in Russia. During the lectures students studied Russian politics and economy, were engaged in Russian language and culture classes.
Higher School of Economics gave four scholarships for students from BRICS Network University partners related in economics, to participate in the School: two students from Brazil, one from South Africa and one from China.
It is really a great opportunity to come to Russia and participate in the School, - says Alexandre Stein, a master student in Economics from Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
2018 Winter School turned out especially multinational: people came from Brazil, South Africa, Mexico, Slovakia, Germany, China and South Korea. Despite the cold weather, participant from warm countries like Brazil and South Africa did not afraid the cold and all free evenings explored Moscow and communicated with each other.
The participants learned about the Higher School of Economics not only via searching, but through friends who studied at the English-language master's programs, read the studies of HSE professors and even took a course in the online platform Coursera. At the end of the Winter School participants shared their plans and said that they would like to come to study in the HSE again: take part in the Summer University, semester exchange or master's program.
