The first meeting of the International Governing Board occurred in Ural Federal University in Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation
During the first international forum of the BRICS Network University that took place at the Ural Federal University, Ekaterinburg, Russia, the first meeting of the International Governing Board has been organized.
The representatives from the Ministries of Education and the universities of all five countries discussed the most important questions on organizing the BRICS Network University. The meeting has been attended by Vinay Sheel Oberoi - Secretary of the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Human Resources Development in the Government of India, Alexander Klimov - Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Russian Federation, Diana Parker - Deputy Director General for University Education in South Africa and the Chair of the National Coordinating Committee, Ved Prakash - Chair Person of the University Grants Commission, Li Chen – Vice President of the Beijin Normal University and other representatives of the BRICS countries.
The IGB members discussed the details of the BRICS NU project, approved the BRICS NU Logo and corporate style of the NU, considered draft regulations of the BRICS NU IGB, as well as other important normative documents of the BRICS NU. The IGB members decided to organize the next meeting of the BRICS NU IGB in India in September, 2016.
The IGB meeting decided, that each country should be be represented by no more than two universities in each of the International Thematic Groups.
